Wheel trims...

Right then,

I've bought my second Transit, first was an 03 plate Connect, and now moved to a 57 plate Mk7 T260, in white with matching coloured bumpers.

The tyres are brand new on Michelins, so I'm going to run them down and buy alloys when they wear out.

In the mean time I'm thinking of sticking some hammerite on the steel rims (black), and shoving some nice'ish (as nice as trims can get) trims on.

What would you chaps recommend? I'm thinking...

I think with hammerite on the rims, and the trims on they'll look nice for the time being. They're not alloys, but considering they're 4 new tyres I'd be throwing money away to get new wheels and tyres.

Please explain. You mean black up the steel rims? Or hammerit laquer the wheel trims?

Yep - i mean black-up the steel wheels, so that you dont see silver metal through the back of the trims

I saw those on Ebay but never got them as I reckon they'd last about three nights on my van before they go missing!

Ended up getting mk7 transit hubcaps on mine and cabletied them on three each!!

i was only looking at these earlier...

I bought some silver hammerite to make my wheels look vaguely better, though then thought black them up and get some trims on... good to see someone else on the same wavelength

Any idea's if trims like these fit? Looking at transit wheels they stick out in the centre more than car wheels, with the nuts poking out quite a bit... any idea's if they will have enough clearance?

this afternoon I painted both wheels on one side of the van with a nice coat of black rustoleum.

was almost done when the wife came out saying we're off out to our friends... 10 mins drying time before the paint had a fast spin dry
I'm amazed the side of the van isn't sprayed black now!!
