i wanted a swb really but at that price i couldn't turn it down, and i wanted a smiley face one at that, so what i will do is see what is like, if its crap i'll still get a swb smiley and put as many parts over as i can.

some of you will know my handy work, i think i was the first or one of the first to fit a 24v in a transit some 7 or 8 years ago.

my van was this one

I have Never seen a 24v one in the flesh.

Who owns it now? I would transplant it into mine if I had the chance (and my back would let me! :( )

i think it wa s broken :? :? welcome mate u from pf then???? :? :?
You only need two tools in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.

the van was broken up years ago, the engine is in a mk2 granada lomo the last i heard, i did a second van, based on an L reg lwb semi high, but that was not as much fun as the swb, still clocked a 16.49 quater mile but felt heavy, broke that up and the engine went to TEXAS in america, my mate did a 190 H reg pickup but that got broken up to, the biggest problem is the parts like prop and axle can't take the power, the first van was on the road about 2 months and killed 4 axles.

yes i have been on PF but not much.

for those wanting to do the 24v conversion i've alwas use the granada mount if anyone want to know how, its easy!!!!!

was eating the diff's for breakfast, but i think the later axles are stronger, didn't have the same problem with the lwb 190, my mates was a twin wheel tipper and he was snapping prop shafts becasue of the grip from the 4 tyres.

well mine's running a mk1 axle :( and ive also converted it to disks so the last thing i want is the diff going  halfshafts would be worse tho :(

it's nice to be prepaired but it dont put me off if i have to i'll swap the entire axle for something much stronger

all i can say is you won't regret fitting a 24v, they are so powerful, if they get the grip you can stay with a sierra cosworth of the lights and thats a fact.

i chased a mate in a 16v toyota corolla that booked a top speed of about 122, i just drove past him and he was flat out!!!!

another mate had a cav gsi 2000, and i was still on his bumper at 130, but after that he pulled away, don't know how acurate hs speedo was though.

these are just a couple of examples of the fun i had, it was the most fun i've had with my cloths on.

not sure of width, may not be wide enough but you can get ratios from 2.73:1 upto and over 5:1
