never seen a mk2 with sliding side door before, thought they were all hinged,

Yes they are common on the continent, out of all of the SWB I have seen, they are 50/50 on the sliding and hinge doors.

maybe if you had the sliding side loading door you could also have sliding front doors :idea:

They weren't available with front and rear sliding doors same side, but e.g. left front sliding door and right rear sliding door yes!

Ford VIN plate codes were AB for the combination with single rear door and AC for combination with rear "barn doors"!

i prefer the looks of the hinged door - especially from the inside, the sliding one doesnt look like it fits properly
