never seen a mk2 with sliding side door before, thought they were all hinged,

Yes they are common on the continent, out of all of the SWB I have seen, they are 50/50 on the sliding and hinge doors.

maybe if you had the sliding side loading door you could also have sliding front doors :idea:

They weren't available with front and rear sliding doors same side, but e.g. left front sliding door and right rear sliding door yes! :D Ford VIN plate codes were AB for the combination with single rear door and AC for combination with rear "barn doors"!

i prefer the looks of the hinged door - especially from the inside, the sliding one doesnt look like it fits properly :x
