Postby steven2558 » Sun Apr 22, 2007 6:06 pm

:D hi everyone this is my first post on this site!!
been readin the how to section on tweeking of the banana type Di motor,
have done wot it said about turning the allen bolt on the pump and tiewrapping the manifold thingy!!!(sorry about the technical description  )
anway its made a massive differance!!! but im just wondering if there would be any adverse effects ie. too much stress on a old engine(Sreg and 150,000),silly ammounts of fuel used etc.........
any advise would be much apprieciated..
by the way ive noticed engines being called 70ps,100ps etc.. does anybody know wot mine would be????(Sreg, with original motor in..)
sorry if im a bit thick but im a newbie!!!

Welcome to the forum! Sounds sill but (if it has survived) there should be a sticker on the cam belt cover that says what PS your engine is!!

It's slightly noisier and the emissions are slightly higher but still well below the MOT limit. You have uped the fueling but because it gives you more power you actually end up with slightly better economy.

Also if it's a banana engine then it's 76ps.

It's a Di, it can take it! And let's face it, it will never be startling whatever you do. Well maybe if you weld it in tandem to another one, but then there might be problems getting it under the bonnett....
