changed fuel supply, interesting results

Since buying my van 18 months ago I have used morrisons diesel usually put £30 a week in.
Last week I was doing 50 mile a day so running very low on diesel (fuel light on, gauge in nomans land) I decided to put £30 in at bp with in 10 minute the van ran quieter, seemed to have more power, started quicker and didn't go into limp mode, so I thought lets do a little test. Ran the fuel down to minimum.

Friday £10 morrisons fuel travelled 50 miles round trip van didn't seem as powerful and cut out a few times.

Sat £10 shell fuel travelled 50 miles round trip, strange knocking noise at idle, not as powerful and kept cutting out.

Above test done on the same roads half motorway half duel carriage way.

Today £10 bp fuel van runs great,quieter, no knocking at idle and more powerful.
Conclusion I'll use bp from now on. N

Although it shouldn't cut out at all, what's going on there then?

Yeah the cutting out got codes for low/high fuel pressure and fuel metering unit, think paul2012 suggested faulty injector trouble is I cant do a leak off test as I cant remove the pipes from the injectors, just order a new fuel filter from ford should be in tomorrow. N

Ive done 20 though in my 2012 125ps euro 5 now.

I always run the tank down ,then brimm with fuel each time.

I fill up where ever i am so get a mix of "branded" fuels and also cheapo Asda type fuels.

If i`m honest i cant tell a diference between them.

I also watched a old series of fifth gear tother night ,where they sciencetific tested lots of fuels.Real test in a golf on propper rolling road,basicly proved there were no differences in them

There probably no difference in mpg just my van seems to run better on bp fuel, I do know different companies have different additive added for cleaning, lubrication etc.

Are you sure it was a proper test as you say they used a golf so maybe it lied we all know vw like to lie, emissions, peoples car saving club . N
