hi all .I got me a new transit well its a f reg 1989 mk3its a luton van with glassfibre side skirts with no engine but with a mt gearbox and a diesal engine in the back.the petrol one was removed to make way for a conversion but never done.dunno if the diesal engine is any good??the chassis is in good condition :D i will put some pics on friday of the van.had to get another van as i had a bit of a moment with my other tranny (the v6 one)the v6 tranny is a bit dented.i had a moment with a bend and a argument with a rather large tree :oops: .unfortunantly the tree won and the tranny didnt. :shock: never mind i may put the v6 engine in my new van :D if not i will put a turbo diesal in the new one..

V6 Luton? Are you mad?? Or just independantly rich? We have a webber twin choke on a 2L, it drinks petrol. Remember lutond have the aerodinamics of a brick!!

after deciding today i am gonna put the turbo diesal from the chassis cab in the luton.what does a luton diesal do fred???in MPG.going to clear the van tommoro (friday)then going to start to get it ready for its new engine which may go in next week if i aint to busy!

Believe it or not, I never really worked it out, but the big uns will get to Paris and some of the way back fully loaded on one full tank, much further for the biggest one cos she has twin tanks. Sorry not much help. A Mk3 wouyld have better aerodynamics, so would be better on fuel.
