I'm just watching it now on 4 play, the history of the pow camp is a eye opener, didn't know they had sport and theatre and the MI9 bit was interesting, a lot of history that most of us didn't even know about.

That's what I found, the place sounded almost as good as a sixties holiday camp, they received red cross parcels, and new uniforms (with maps sewn in) quite often.
I'm not sure that I would have bothered to leave, given the likelihood of being captured and shot

That's what I was thinking, why escape, they even got along with the guards, there must be some reason they took the risk of escape.

They explained that; it was always impressed on servicemen that it was their duty to escape when captured, but the regulation actually stated that it was their duty to try and evade capture. There was no regulation compelling them to escape at all, it was all brainwashing.

I enjoyed that, even with the history stuff. Hopefully he'll recreate one of Evil Knievel's failed jumps next
