The meaning of emo has changed a bit as it meant to begin with Emotional Rock, now it gets applied to any of those with skew whiff hair and trousers that need to be bought in the right size...which is kind of the skater look, but emo's tend to wear more black, sort of a cross between a Goth and a skater.
Whichever it is they look a mess and in 10 years time will wonder what they hell they were doing. Oh one buzz name for them now is Fashion Rebel, but again these wear brighter clothes, Cyber Punk Lolita's were once emo's. It hacks me off no end with parents defending their kids who dress like this by saying 'it is the fashion'...get real you have no control of your child and no it is not 'the fashion', it simply the old punk adage of creating attention by an insecure individual.

Dogs are much easier, they don't demand £100 trainers for a start, well not to wear anyway...

Simple answer is don't say yes to them wearing these clothes, same with name brands. When they earn their own money then sure they can buy the clothes (subject to approval of course....short skirts etc)
The 'I want' generation have way too much as it is. The arguement of the parents wanting their children to have what they didn't doesn't help the kids values especially later on when they actually have to work to buy things. The worst examples of this are the self employed workers made good who give their little Chantelle's and Shane's everything.
But back on topic they won't be smoking in the bars underage...just drinking ;)

I was told a story at the weekend of a Porsche. It was a very rare one. some fella had it from new and looked after it. It was immaculate, Then a day came when he decided to move on from it and sold it to another person who was really keen on owning it. This owner ragged it to buggery and smoked in it, didn't look after it or maintain it properly. He has recently found out he cannot afford to own it after about 6 months. He has been trying to sell it but cannot. The reason that he cannot sell it is that its been smoked in. There is no way you can get rid of that smell in this car. Because of it its devalued it by £5k. Expensive habit for him.
