70 mph!!!

was going down the M2 overtook a lorry and looked at the speedo 70!!!
40 year old van with its perkins 4108 not bad and it starts ok now :shock:
if you think my van is dirty you should see my pants

my old perkins would only do 45 on the flat :shock: :lol:

i once was on a long down hill and managed 68 on the speedo but i doubt it was that good in realtiy :( :lol:

I used to drive a Perkins powered 1990 LDV 3.5T LWB High roof. It was the only vehicle in the fleet that could legally pull the cable trailer as it had uprated brakes and a sufficient weight limit.

Up the hill on the M606 to Bradford it managed a heady 45mph. Any faster and I'd have gone back in time.

Even empty it'd only do 17mph up a famous hill near where I used to live. :lol:

There's a hill on an A road near me where I can drive up in 2nd, possibly 3rd, when empty.Once fully loaded I couldn't get out of first! :lol:

Even on the A9 (dual cariageway) heading south from Inverness. You could charge at daviot hill at 80-odd mph, then half a mile up the hill you're down to 45 :roll: :lol:

No, in scotland a Hill to them is a cliff face to us :P
