I f you didn't pay for the van then I can't think that trading standards etc are going to help, and I suppose if the garage have agreed to carry out all the repairs as per your original agreement then they are entitled to say you either buy the van or they keep the deposit.Doesn't make it right though does it?.They seem to care little about their reputation. If you do buy a van from elsewhere, why not make up a nice big sign with the TRUE facts of what happened, mentioning names etc ,slap it on the side of your new van and park opposite their entrance, making sure you've told the local paper and radio station what you intend to do.Writing "Blow your horn if this makes you smile" or something like that, usually ensures that even if the salesman doesn't see you he'll hear your protest has started.
Giving them a slap or supergluing their car doors shut might make you feel better but you can bet the Old Bill won't see it that way and the salesman like all bullies is a coward at heart will soon run to them for protection.Mind you,the nights are pulling in,its easy to trip in the dark.
