Transit 60th Birthday - 20th Sept 2025 (Essex)

Hi All - some of you may remember the 40th Birthday of the Transit - including blocking the Elizabeth Bridge (Dartford Crossing) for a Guinness Record - something similar is happening for the 60th (but we don't know what it will be yet). It is a kid friendly event.

What we do know is that Ford want as many Transits as possible at their birthday event on the 20th September. Unfortunately not a lot of details have been released yet, but I have been told that Ford are spending over £1m on this - and its something you really want to be a part of.

From what I understand it will start at Dunton Technical Centre.

The show itself will be free to enter, and I expect there will be some freebies.

Members of the Transit Van Club are camping the night before at Barleylands (a local campsite about 5 miles away) - you are welcome to join us (but book quickly - I expect it will fill up quite soon).

This is open too all - you don't have to be a member of any club or group - as long as you arrive in a Transit (including connect!)

More details to follow as I get told them - but please add it too your calendars now before you forget. I will add more info as I know it and will answer what I can

I don't think there was so much as a free sandwich available then, and all of the 'golden' coloured vans that were left dotted about were all locked, so that us plebs couldn't have a sit inside
