Prop bearing shock!

Postby fastmower » Tue Sep 18, 2007 7:43 pm

Found out today why it's called the Fraud Stealers....

Need a new prop centre bearing on the County - fairly urgently so didn't buy one off ebay, but got my mechanic mate to get one from Pyes - our local stealers. Their van rolled up at his place this morning with the bearing and he came over and asked how much I'd seen them for on ebay? "About £17 including the postage mate"

His face dropped a bit like he didn't really want to tell me.......

"£56 with the VAT"

Can someone please cheer me up and tell me those on ebay are really rubbish and wouldn't last more than 3 months and shouldn't be touched with a barge pole please?

Please?........

Andy

I cant tell you about the ones on ebay mate, but my usual supplier didnt have one last time I wanted one, so I went to 'trent valley bearings' (local bearing supplier) and it was a massive £8.90

Tell you what lads - if the Samaritans are asking for volunteers where you live........

Don't bother applying eh?!

Should be a County for sale on here soon - as soon as wifey discovers my cold stiff corpse at the far end of the workshop........
