and not aloud to carry any load or passingers

I pressume you mean after they said your van was "unroadworthy" you couldn't carry passengers or load until sorted, is that right?

On a PG9 you are not allowed to do anything, and must get the van trailered/flatbedded away, not even usin a spec lift as all of the wheels have to be off the road.

It's not common with us, but it does happen and roadside checks crop up every other month or so, it depends how rabid the officers are, you can get a delayed PG9, we did once on a slightly leaking load compensator valve, thogh often if it's brakes they get really freaked out. The last time it happened, the driver had no idea that there was a problem, and he was the type that wouldn't do the slightest bit dodogy thing.

But yet the big companies are the ones who flout the laws, I defected a Rigd loory not to long ago whith defective brakes, more of a severe shudder to be honst but it was never repaired, a few months later I got the same lorry and I didnt remember this lorry at the time, went out the gate, over a few round abouts and turned around and went straight back, threw a wobbly and refused to drive it, its ironic but they wipped it straight away to be repaired, two severly warped discs replaced and she was a treat to drive, brake shudder in a lorry is dangerous, on anything I should add and that was one of the biggest haulage firms in Europe..TNT, being a HGV/contruction equipment macky was not in their favour
