Insurance values

What do insurers base their value on? I've just taken dated photos of my 2002 mk6 including the speedo for mileage just in case it disappears in the next month - I have my suspicions. How easy is it to pinch without the keys, it has a 'Stoplock Pro' on the steering wheel. Is there any point in a wheelclamp or will a cordless angle grinder have this off?

insurance values are based on market value not necessarily how much you think it is worth !!

It's not where it's parked in so much as either being followed there or someone knowing the address....

..and that's why we don't have it signwritten, as that leads to being followed to pinch the tools from our storage....

i've heard of paranoia but this . Smart water all your tools and get a good alarm on your van.

I have a Clifford concept 50 on mine. It's one of the older cliffords but still cat 1 thatcham ( discount ) but it is a good alarm. I also have a personal attack alarm modified to me garage door as it a lot louder than any alarm i have heard!!!

i used to have a 140dbd siren in one of my cars hooked up to the ignition so if you forgot to turn it off ( something you only ever did once ) your ears bled

140 does not sound much till you think its done on the square of the number before

mk6's are supposed to be very difficult to steal without the keys so i was told off a locksmith, but thinking about it i dont know of anyone who's had one nicked
