Kitting out my Mk5 LWB Hi-Cube

Postby Buzz-Billsberry » Thu Jan 19, 2006 8:57 pm

Looking in changing into me weekend camper

where's best place to start for bits to convert? I'm not going full bling just somewhere comfy to keep at race meetings etc a few questions

kitting it out with electric lights e.g. wring for portable TV fridge, lights etc? I do have a genny.

I notice a lot of you on the home conversion front have carpeted the insides .Where do I go for that sort of stuff? How have u stuck the material to the walls of the van

I've managed to sort out 3 recaro(2.8i Capri) for the front. Will the seat locate on the original seat mounts? I would imaging that the drivers side would be pretty strait forward

Any help ,photos or advise would be brill .Bare in mind this is my 1st Tranny so be gentle!! :D

Thanx

Caravan breakers have all you want, Franks caravan breakers in Luton I guess will be able to supply you with your needs, fridges can run on gas or 12v but it does drain the battery

Before lining it i would check the van thoroughly for any signs of rust inside as it will be difficult to rectify after it is lined

i would recommend lining the floor and sides with plywood and put some form of insulation between the ply and van sides. this will give you something to screw cabinets etc. to, and give a relativly flat surface to glue carpet to.

I never thought about acaravan breakers good Idea!

The van is lined but I think I'll get the panelling out to check for rust and insulate as madvanman suggests

Cheers
