Mot Passed

Our camper has passed it's Mot on 2nd attempt.

Failed on headlight allignment, rear suspension bushes worn and emmissions.

Headlights done by tester, I had some new rear shocks anyway so they went on rather than muck about with the bushes and the garage charged £13 to sort the emmisssions.

For a 18 year old van I was well satisfied with that.

Headlight alignment? I am amazed they even mention it, unless they realy were pointing skywards or sommat. How does it run now the emissions have been 'sorted out'? BTW isn't your van 19 now?

Mot tester always have their thing which they always pick up on. Least it didn't cost to fix.

Registered 1990 built 1989 so take your pick on age.
Get this with the old bikes a lot, dealers sell off valuable reg then get age related plate based on year of manufacture which is often the year earlier then originally registered.

headlamp aim is something VOSA keep banging on about at the moment on the seminars and training courses - it's their pet thing at the moment and the one and only adjustment we're now allow to do during the test

Sorry I disappeared,

Had a run in the van this afternoon, a lot better now carbs been tweeked, could feel it was running rich and was fairly sure it would fail emmissions. I'd replaced valve stem seals last year and was sure it wasn't burning oil.

Going to Classic Motorcycle show at Stafford next week so I'll see what fuel economy is like now.
