help please to find an old transit.

Postby geordie white van man » Fri Jun 13, 2008 9:07 pm

Im trying to find weather my Grandads old transit still exits.
I know this to be almost certainly scrapped but hey, you never know.
I my grandad died a year ago and today I was looking through some of his old paper work.
I came across a reciept for a transit which he bought in 1970.
The reg is LVK17D.
The receipt shows he traded in a morris van which they gave him £65 for and he then paid £345 for the transit.
DVLA online doesnt have any info on it which probably means its long gone by now or may be sat in a shed on a farm maybe for the last 20 years.

If anyone can please help me to find any info on its whereabouts, pictures etc would be most aprreciated.
Thanks in advance

If it can't be found on the DVLA system online chances are it's been scrapped. If it makes you feel any better, the new computer closed in either 1973 or 1975, cant remember which. If it existed but was off the road then maybe it wasn't added and is still sat in a barn somewhere.....

You just never know otherwise.
The stuff my grandad kept is unreal. He didnt anything away but the looks of things, lol.
I found the rent card for the 1st house he and my nana rented together back in 1963.
