Central locking

Postby AlanN » Sun Jul 06, 2008 2:44 pm

Does anyone know how a 5 wire motorised door actuater works. I have searched for diagrams on the net, but I cant find anything that tells me what wire does what.
I have a alarm which will operate the door locks! On 2 wires from it, I get a pulse down one when it opens and down the other when it closes.
THen have a 5 wire door motor, but I cant sus out what wires do what, I understand that 2 are for the slave locks
Can anyone help me out here

I found this diagram on 12volt.com, I may give this a go and see if it works... Anyone got a better idea

Both motor legs rest at ground at the relays. To lock or unlock the vehicle, polarity is changed on one motor leg.
Or a £20 relay

wire them all as slaves and you won't need the relay - depends on the alarm of course

The problem is there isnt a positive supply to activate the motor, so the relays will switch + & - either way when the alarm supplies neg volts to one or the other relay. Hell it works, the central locking works great now from remote. :D
Just got to sort out what wire to cut in the column for the imobiliser wires now, to shut off the ignition. :?:
