Got myself a quote yesterday for having the van repaired - £750. Still wating for something to happen with the insurance because the other party hasn't admited liability yet, and nothing can happen until they do. Saw the other driver again on wednesday and he said that is boss is going mad and that his "uncle" (who is apparently nothing to do with the company) is willing to give me a "few quid" to get it fixed without going though the insurance. Don't think he would be willing to give me £750 though

Yes, Just after it happened a police car drove past and stopped. he took all the details and spoke to the other driver. He also gave me an incident number which ive given to my insurance along with the name of a witness.

that will be why the other party is upset as you probably find they are not insured.
and that is why they wish to settle out with

Its been over a week now since it happened and im still waiting for the third party insurance to get its act together. On a positive note, i've got an assessor coming out to see the van today so hopefully might know a bit more later.

The assessor has been and the van is repairable :D. Needs a bonnet, wing, headlamp panel, headlamp, indicator and grill surround. he said the van is worth about £2000, so not enough damage to write it off. Hopefully should be fixed next week.

Well, the vans back on the road :D Just been fixed up enough so that I could use it again. Its had the headlight panel straightened, new o/s wing and the bonnet, headlight and indicator off a scapper. Still needs to be sprayed but its going to have a new n/s wing fitted before its done. Also needs a new grill panel because the other one got snapped and has been stuck back together with fibre glass temporarily. Going to treat it to a set of clear front and side indicators when its done 8)
