poor poor service recieved from dealer and fords themselves

Postby jduk65 » Thu Jul 24, 2008 12:38 am

new shaped transit 140 psi 27k on the clock turbo started whistling could not get into my "normal" garage for two weeks tried a diff ford stealer

was diagnosed as a erg valve will be sorted in no time ............er no sorry back order one week later new valve fitted and nope still there !!

ford advised them change all the gaskets (turbo/manifold/exhaust/ect) ....ok sir we will order them and rebooked it for 5 days later ..drove 40 miles back to garage ..soon as i walked in to the place ..agh sorry sir we dont have your gasket set .....wtf did you not phone me ???er sorry forgot

phoned me back two days later after much lying and f*** about by the main dealers head office got it booked in for friday and sat morning left it with them assured will be sorted for monday by 9am

phoned at 830 will phone ya back

they phoned me 9am yep all done ..drove to pick it up and ...er no its not done still whistling like a police siren and to make matters worse i now have the abs and anti skid lights on the dash all the time on ..oh and a knock on the steering when i turn it luckily it was still drive able so i was given it back at 12 as they could not figure how to sort the lights out and the guy who had worked on it was now on holidays !

obv not very happy fords then said we need the van for a week !!!!

this is the vehicle i earn my living with a pay my morgage ect and wages as well as my partners

ford tech and ford customer assistance have been more than useless and the garage cannot provide me with a van with a tow bar i will need to hire equipment to use whilst van is in being sorted

left countless messages for the dealer principle to contact me to discuss this matter as it is beyond the joke never had call back in over a ten days

so still waiting for them to find me a van with a towbar (i found a company within 15 mns of phoning about they have been trying for a week! with exuse after excuse)

tommorow is dday for them if its not sorted tommo i have a large independant ford dealer who will look at it for me and will have to start again to make sure everything they have done it right before he can fix the problem

ford themselves refuse to repalce the turbo till they have tried more checks ?? wtf they now need to check i have no idea only really whistles when under load

they tried allready to get out of it by saying my van has not got full service history till i had to point out the first service is due at 30,000 miles or every two years

back bone of britain seem some what lacking in this dept !!

makes me sad as its been a really grt van so far !let down by shoddy inept service funny enough they are supposed to be the biggest and best ford stealers in the land !

Another 140 turbo fooked!!

It aint difficult to get a turbo authorized from ford, simple case of yes ive checked this and that, no signs of any gaskets leaking, no damage, put a turbo on, no problem thankyou very much, takes about 15 mins on the phone to prior approval and jobs a good 'un :D

Sounds like you got another 'I cant be assed tech/dealer' working on it  (yes we have it where I work, we all know the 140's are suffering from turbo problems, its just if you get someone that dont care and gives the attitude of 'they all do that')
I miss my 'courtesy van'............140 Glx..now a Jumbo :(

to be fair with them they are chasin ford for the parts now ,they where told they would be in and thought van would be fitted and ready for thursday

ford "customer dont give a monkeys care" are trying to sort it out as well

the parts did not arrive now been told that it is on back order ! and no eta as of yet

they have after much hassle and arguing got me a van with a tow bar on and i have had to go out and hire myself equipment to tow as my jettin unit it in the rear of my van bolted down and safe in there garage

costing me nearly £400 quid a week !! and they just tell me they will not pay for any specialist equipment hire basically think yourself lucky we have given you a van type of vibe

so as it stands i have lost approx 2k in works plus £400 for me jetter and i have no van and no idea when it will come back !!

and by the look of it now where to apply for compensation for loss of earning or extra costs

left a very very bad taste in my mouth over this fords would not autherize the turbo till they had checked it themselves on line with there computer .............

 unreal people be the ford i spoke to the customer team and asked to speak to a ford manager only to be told i,m sorry sir they do not speak to customers

well its supposed to be back tommorow !! three weeks to fix the turbo and everything else they nackered up plus a service

i was told last thursday as was ford customer care that all was fixed i drove to the stealers for 930 only to be told by the workshop foreman it was not ready ..turbo was fitted but all the other faults where still not attended to i saw red big big time
asked to speak to the guy in charge what w*** he turns out to be ...came over all apologetic i told him what i thought of his garage and service he was just apologizing and said he would get his workshop foreman to make sure everything was done correctly ..i asked him why he did not return calls he said agh (here he thought was his get out answer how wrong was he) you would of left messages with out nottingham central office they have not passed them to me ...er no i have left at least seven messages here when i visited trying get you to fix my van once and for all i left messages with your front of house staff ,your workshop foreman and your sales manager who also emailed you and sent me a copy of the email he sent you ...so who is lying them or you ?????he just went very very quite

i then asked him who was going to pick up the tab for all the extra hire i have had to pay for whilst they have been fixing my van ...his standered answer was we would not do as we are just doing what ford directed us to do .....

i then asked him what ford told you to put more faults on my van and waste my time and cost me money whilst you where fixing my turbo ?????

these things happen he said !!

how the feck can things just happen ?????

i could not tell you i,m not a mechanic or a technician ....no mate you are a twat

they have serviced to van now for some reason i have needed both front and rear pads even though they where not showing as needed on the dash board and i was having no faults

i have since spoken to pendragon who own evans halshaw and i am waiting for there area manager to phone me back on monday

evans halshaw bless them would not give me a head office number as they are not allowed power of the internet gave me it

i have told the stealer i,m not paying his bill till i have spoken to his area manager as i am totally disgusted with there customer service and so far workman ship

looking forward to hearing what he has to say i have allready told them i am looking for compensation and if we cannot sort it out between us i am more then willing to go to court and the media to tell them just how poor evans halshaw really is

mate sounds like a hard ass deal you got from them

and hope you get some justification and your money back :(

no point threatening them with the papers, chances are pendragon
will advertise there garages thru all the local papers in your area

same thing happened up here with another large dealer (AC) and most of the time
the bosses just said go for it cos they knew the papers wont print anything bad about them
due to the fact the advertising budget was massive with the papers

just hope they do right by you and realise there errors but highly doubt it :(

Agreed, they don't have an advertising budget to risk and are impartial

There seems to be more and more of these "crap sservice from Fords" threads lately. I would have thought that with the current economic climate, they would be after as much good press as possible, and give good service to the people who pay their wages. It seems to me like they have the sale of the van, so they don't give a toss.

If they have replaced brake pads, although not needed, are they billing you for that unauthorised work?
