Losing the will to live...

Ok so its not that bad , but the van has been out of MOT for months, the weather is cold and wet, the welding is going nowhere, I have no benchspace or garage, just a tiny 6x4 shed filled with crap, and a gravel driveway where the van lives.

Both sills/doorsteps, along the underside edge on both sides, and front cross member need to be sorted out. Then the steering rack and windscreen washers need to be sorted before even thinking about an MOT.

I spend every Saturday morning, thinking "sod it, lets just weigh it in". Looking after an old transit (age and/or miles) is certainly steady work. I work long tiring hours, the weekends are all I have to sort it, and I always seem to find other things to do instead.

What do you guys do when you lose your focus? I need Transit related inspiration folks! Particularly if you don't have a nice warm garage.

(Or a friendly forum welder who doesn't charge the earth for their time )

What do you guys do when you lose your focus?

i get like that some times - especially with big welding jobs you can spend ages and go backwards
what i try to do is go to the van with 1 job in mind to do - do that then leave it. same sort of thing each time set a very realistic target and you tend to feel like your progressing eveen if its very slowly

I haven't got a focus to lose but if I did I'd probablyuse the remote to make the alarm go off LOL

It's all to do with the weather (and politics)

I know exactly how you feel, but as Luke says, set a small target at a time even if it's not for the whole Saturday A couple of hours or see how the day goes
If it's raining, then pop inside with a nice cuppa and see how others on here are progressing with their rustbuckets

i'm like you aswell no nice warm garage and s**t load of welding to get done
i just promise myself on a friday night to get up early sat and try to get through the
tasks i've set myself
don't give up its too easy get the warm fleece on and get fired into it

Right... I may well have caved slightly.

Bought a second Transit earlier today, 98 SWB120 Diamond White, mint condition this time round. I wasn't expecting it to be anything much when I arranged to view, but it turned out to be rather nice indeed, would have been a bit mad not to.

So, this may bring things to a head for the other van, one way or the other.

I am weak. I love Transits.

Use the new one over the winter, and sort the old one out when weathers a tad warmer?
