edit: i read the reg wrong its a red 2.5di, the "rare" tag must refer to the specifics including the factory colour, i wonder how many red petrols are left of that age

no....its archeology in the sense of exploring the history of the van by taking it to bits and examining its component parts to see what stories they tell.


i suspect its real purpose is to promote this sort of discussion and cross archeology into mainstream life, bring some understanding of what they do to other people and maybe convert a few people who wouldnt normally be interested in the subject.

The term archaeological excavation has a double meaning.

Excavation is the best known and most commonly used within the science of archaeology. In this sense it is the exposure, processing and recording of archaeological remains.
The term is also used for an example of the application of the technique to the study of a given site. In this sense, an excavation may sometimes be referred to as a "dig" by those who participate, this being a concise, if over-simplified description of the process. Such a site excavation concerns itself with a specific archaeological site or a connected series of sites, and may be conducted over a number of years.

either way its a pritty pointless thing to do now if excavating a 1992 transit consisted of strip down and rebuild to immaculate condition with a v8 engine that would be different
