hi all i have been after a td transit recovery truck,for a while and got one today,1999,model v, reg but how many miles should you think it should of done on £30 of diesel, i did have a mk6,escort estate on the back of it, i was driving flat out at times 85mph,its got the fly by throttle,not cable type, but at other times it would only pull 55mph at times does it sound right for a transit,as this is the first td transit i have had,there was a lot of hills at times it motors on and other times it does not feel that fast. what do you lot think:o

Depends on the cost of the fuel.

i think it was £1.06p a litre call it 30litres as there was a little in

Assuming you're averaging round 25-30mpg (about the average for a mk5) you'd be looking at between 160 and 190 miles on £30.

but it only did 130miles, so it sounds a bit heavy then on fuel, theres a engine on e,bay out of a s,reg but that has a cable throttle, not fly by, i thought only the early tds had a cable,
