mk3 swb diesel 2.5 to a pinto questions etc

Postby intransit89 » Sat Feb 07, 2009 8:07 pm

hello i will be hopefully geting a mk3 J reg swb low roof transit ex bt sprayed red body work a bit gone but chassis is ok :D .

right question is,

the van is a diesel,

but my mate wants engine and box and prop shaft for his auto pinto so will the engine loom and dash loom be ok for puting the pinto in this mk3 van?

+ where does the pipes come out on a pinto rad?

+ does the ignition need any thing to make the pinto work?

and other thing is does the brakes still work from the servo to the vac pump back of alt on a pinto?

cheers rob

ie my mate has a camper mk3 pinto with auto box and he will have the diesel engine in so i will be having the pinto stuff for this red one but maybe want to try and get hold of a adptor plate for the mt75 to pinto :D just to get the van running till i find a other petrol engine

the petrol gets its vaccum from the inlet manifold not from a pump like the diesel, the pinto and diesel rad inlet and outlet are the same

The 2.1 is not a standard ford lump, it is an overbored 2000 pinto. I am no longer fitting a pinto in my mk3 so have all the kit to fit a pinto into a mk3  :D
