How ironic,
just sold my trusty mk5 tranny,(which had hardly let me down in nearly 3 years).
Have'nt found a new one yet,so in the mean time have hired a 06 plate swb,driven just over 200 miles since sat,breaks down on me today and had to be towed back.
Kept dying,would'nt start and the yellow coil light keeps flashing.
I think I'll get my mk 5 back.

You forget about reliability when you are in the comfort of a mk7. also when the body work aint effected by rust cancer. o yer and you dont need ear muffs when your doing over 50mph o yer also you can actually drive in the fast lane EVEN when going up a hill ooooooo yer if you do happen to break down i am sure many people like my self wont mind sitting inside the nice comfy cab area in the mk7. also the steering wheel hasnt been nicked out of a lorry...................

My MK5 has broken down 4 times ........ immobiliser problem each time Never happened on my MK4, because it never had one

i would lol had a test run the other day in a 58plate 200ps jumbo.
i cant explain how quick it is. you have to actually drive one i always knew they would be quick but wooooooooooooo.
btw i put in £10.00 of fuel and i got 28 miles out of that
lets jus put it this way i have driven a mk4 golf gti 1.8t which has around 150bhp i think........
i reckon the van will keep up with it if not take it on a straight run. keeping in mind the van weighs double, double the size, aero dynamics of a breeze block.

yeah mate i was actually driving me cousins mk7 140 yesterday then i got back in mine and it does feel dated but it doesnt give me any problems and i still enjoy driving it
you only realise a mk4 is dated when you drive a later van, so i can put up with that

only mk7 i'll ever be getting is a sportvan and again yesterday .... driving the same mk7 we went past canklow auctions 2 sportvans there, went in and asked but they are going to haydock (manheim) still cant see me buying one tho just yet
