I've got to know -was the price right?

8) :D
I bought a new shape transit 280 2lt diesel recently, I went for it as we have big dogs and it seemed in very good condition and fitted with cages.
It is white with no dents or scratches, no rust, 37,000 miles with full history. It was bought for the previous dog owner from new, and has heated windscreen, electric windows, CD player, and single "hatch" rear door.
I must say I am impressed witht he car like drive, and have only had one little problem of a dribble of diesel from the pump, but that was sealed for £80 cash from a mechanic.
8) :D
I paid £5,700 with the cages which would have cost us between £1,200 and £1,500 if they had not been part of the deal.

Did I get ripped off or was it an OK deal?

Saying did you get ripped off is all relative, it can depend on how long you've been looking and even what your time is worth.

At the end of the day it comes down to are you happy? I would say so otherwise you wouldn't have baught it! Items and products are only worth what people will pay for them at the end of the day!

Sorry I forgot to put the year on, it is October 2001 on a "51" plate.
Yea the engine was stripped to the pump without taking it off and the bits laid out, but when the garage kept asking for the solenoid to replace the leaking one, Ford kept sending the wrong one... but then it was noticed the one they kept sending was at the top, but it was the "whatever" underneath leaking diesel.
I was told this did not come as a spare but the correct solution was to take off the pump and send it to a wonderful place where engineers woud then rebuild and recode the pump for a measley £300 and then send it back to be fitted. The garage said that they woud have to charge £200 to strip down the engine further to tale off the pump and then refit it.
OR... they were sure they could seal it in situ if I would give the go ahead.
I said yes, and because I had been messed around we came to a deal of £80 cash.
It has been dry since... I am happy :) :D :) :D :)
