Windscreen's not sealed correctly!! Need advice

Yo guys....I seem to remember someone on the forum is a windscreen fitter but cant think who it is . While cleaning out the van today I noticed that my MK3's windscreen is hanging off Well I pulled the sealing strip back to see where the rain has been coming in and found most of the passenger side windscreen has NO sealer to hold it in place.

So....guess what I'm asking is;

what is a reasonable price to have the windscreen removed and resealed?

more to make it watertight than anything Dont fancy taking the screen out myself and having it lying about till I can get it refitted in case it gets broke

And while I'm on the subject. . . will a MK5 screen fit a MK3 I see no reason why not . . but then I have an untrained eye

£80 over here in Northern Ireland to have a screen fitted.

I did it myself and had some leaks but I put some silicone around the edge and sorted them!

btw silicone rots steel not a good thing when you own a transit

yes it does you put some on some steel and go back to it in a year it's acidic i think all i know is it eats metal especially ally

silicone sealant has limited uses anyway i find, it never seems to "stick" enough for my liking, there is some stuff that you are supposed to use on windscreen seals, it never quite sets, i forget the name now, i got some from greyvanman when he did my mk2 just incase i needed it

polysulphide sealent is the only stuff we use on ally windows and conservatorys as it 100 times better than silicone the problem now is the market is flooded with cheap s**t silicone which breaksdown in less than 2yrs

gunslinger it may have been stickaflex or something like that.its a black type sealant and it sticks most things and seals as well.it sealed up my screen on a mk1 fiesta a few years back..

used to used sikaflex when working on erm.. specialist vehicles
never found anything that can match it for strength
