Passengers in a camper

Postby bikerwitch13 » Tue Jun 27, 2006 10:21 pm

Does anybody know the law on carrying passengers in the back of a camper? I will be putting the baby seat in the front seat, but is it legal to carry people in the back as they will be unrestrained? Is the law the same for children as for adults?

I am not sure whether to carry passengers or not for the safety aspect

Can't see a problem, tis no different to the bench seats in land rovers.

as far as I know side facing seats are exsempt from the seatbelt rules, so should be able to be used.

if it's registered as a camper you dont legally need any belts on any seats in the rear of the vehicle whichever way they face.
i wouldn't reccomend it though for safetys sake.

edit is recommend..reccomend..recomend, can't find dictionary

Wouldn't it be better to belt it in widthways, instead of lengthwise???
