it is a great shame as some of the mk2 transit would now be tax exempt!

it goes on manufactured date - you need the chassis number and evidence from fords or someone official to qualify for it!!!Wolfie wrote:madmark wrote:welcome, and what year are your vehicles ready for no tax?????? we have a bad goverment that changed it , it was for vehicles that were 25yrs old ,but then new goverment changed the rules and free tax is only for 1/1/1973 backwards!![]()

is that the manufacture date or first registration???
cause mine is tax free but registred on the 04.01.1973 and unless i have missed it there is no date of manufacture on the the new log book, so what is to stop people saying it was made in 1972 and getting the free tax???
Vehicle Registration Document/Certificate (V5C) – This must clearly show a date of registration or
manufacture of the vehicle prior to *1 January 1973. If the Registration Document/Certificate is not available
or if you think the age shown is incorrect, you will need to produce a dating certificate from a vehicle
enthusiasts club or evidence from the vehicle manufacturer.
Where a Registration Document/Certificate indicates that the vehicle was registered up to and including 7 January 1973,
we are prepared to allow entry into the Historic Class on the basis that the vehicle would have been constructed the
previous year.
