Yup, so as i said, it's a Ford Transit chassi cab with the camper body built on to it. The vin plate (the one with serial number/model on it will tell a Ford dealer anything they need to know about parts, if they still are in stock that is. if you need to replace anything major, it's often possible to replace with Mk2 bits, eg the brake servo and master.

Nice one Fred - just knowing that some parts could be MK2 compatible gives me some hope in getting spares (maybe even without remortgaging)

Just realised the servo and master are a bad example! You would need to go Mk3 for those! But it's still possible to replace them with new parts, which is best with brakes.

fred you should know a ci autohome by now! the rear light are just marker bord lights or diy trailer lamps these were not the original type lense fitted to this camper so they have been changed at some point!

The VIN number says build date was March 75

I know mate, they would not be the original lights, I was just answering welshrussell's comment about the van being a mis mash of different bits.

Sorry for not replying sooner - I've just spent a couple of days driving around NW Scotland, with no probs

If you look very closely - you'll notice that whoever fitted these trailer lights they picked odd ones

Any suggestions on what would make it look better/more original if I replaced these lights

k to n reg would of had those type lights but p reg would of had the normal flat later type fitted to lutons and A and D series !

if you are not depsperate for total originality, try Mk2 chasis cab rear lights, made by rubberlites (flexiblelamps.co.uk or .com) they have indicator side and brake lights in one unit, and the legal requirememnt reflector.
