The idea behind the Slow Car Club is to have some fun racing without going to all the bother of buying a fast car, getting a racing licence, or doing any tuning. The plan is to hold an event roughly once a year, with the next one probably around July 2006.

I loved that transit - Had to leave it with some car yard valets in Naples last week as we doubted it would make ity back after melting the wheel trims and cracking the radiatior coming down the swiss alps

In all honesty, it has to be the funniest vehicle I've ever driven - Kind of like a dog with three legs, you love it and pity it at the same time.

It was a 2.5D Automatic with twin side opening glass doors - And.... AND... All the parts for it were for a 1989/1990 model even though it was K reg... Must have been so unloved from the start that it had to be replated for 4 years... He had a good home for several years with me though

Actually went to see one exactly the same (wonder if it was the same one )and was also late registered, as it was a cancelled export order

It was dark blue, twin side loaders (with blocked out/painted windows) Heavy duty full custom roofrack and a safe-t-bar. About 90,000miles on a n/a engine. It was soooo slowww. Had power steering though
Made him a good offer and looking back, I'm glad he didn't accept it

He stood there moaning how much the roof rack cost him and how much the safety bumper/step was

After you use something you can't possibly be expecting to get all your money back

It's gotta be the same one - I bought it at 92,000 for £800, yep the windows were painted over, had had a respray at some point.... It had a sticker in the back for Newton Abbot motors but I ended up buying it in Hawkesbury Upton, nr Badminton, Glos... Yep it was slow going and that 2nd - 3rd gear change kick in was a bit like being hit in the back with a hammer - Kept looking back to see if someone had driven into me. Converted it into a camper eventually and went round europe for 4 months... Never broke down once!!

God I miss it, only been 2 weeks since I gave it away in Naples.....lol
