suggestion - Ford pays some of the boffins on here!

Half-Seriously, if it weren't for the help, experience and advice available exclusively on here a lot of Transits would be in the scrappy by now or at best run into the ground.
Not only that, theres inspiration to keep the burgers on the road and modify them.
Ford must be grateful of the aftermarket and reputation!!!
Fair do's less new vans sold, but where the budget don't stretch there won't be new vans anyway. Just endless flogging into the ground of old vans whoever made them.
I think the 'one piece at a time' attitude is superb and the wealth of knowledge here makes it available to every man and woman on the street.
Long may it continue!!!

Love the sentiment, but somehow I still can't believe that Ford is truly happy about some of us running 20 year old vans commercially and not buying a new van every tthree years.

All those old vans rattling on and on must be an inpsiration to those who can afford new ones I reckon.

Ford as a company are happy to have as many Transits on the road as possible.

If your all driving round in older models of Transit while you decide if you like the newer Transits your not driving sprinters or Lt's ;) . I'll leave out the ½ decent sherpas because they run on ford gear ;)

As a company Ford have 3 things to offer, vehicles, parts and credit. So if the vehicles are out there they'll need parts and hopefully a good experience in a Tranny will sell another one to either it's owner or a friend by way of recommendation and when that happens they are happy to offer competitive rates.

Ford.....everything weeeeeeeeeee do, is driven by yoooooooooooou in some way shape or form :D

The only problem with Ford parts is they stop producing them too soon. 10 years seems to be the watershed with some parts, other parts seem to have no shelf life and others still went to the wall about a week after a new Mk came out, there doesn't seem to a pattern. 10 years even at the outside doesn't seem to be a fair lifetime, or maybe Ford deosn't like to admit the corrosion protaction isn't all that.....
