Stolen spare Wheel

Postby cockney » Mon May 13, 2013 11:28 am

To all transit owners who have had to like me replace a stolen spare wheel.
I was at a market last week and bought a TRANI-LOCK for £110 brilliant bit of kit and dead easy to fit.
Only draw back is i have since found it on ebay for £89.99.
Only wish i found it before it cost me £300 plus for new spare and cable. :(

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ford-transit- ... 4045687%26

it even states at bottom of discription
Not guaranteed to stop a theft as with all anti theft devices.

I bought it because even if you cut the cable you still dont get the wheel so theres no point in cutting the cable.
Nothing is un nickable, but they have made this visible to put the dirty toe rags off trying to nick it.

in general i leave my spare in the garage as i work fairly local on longer trips i either throw on back or put it inside the rear crewcab area. its bound to be chucking it down or road covered it crap when i get a flat so sod crawling about underneath truck

i bet if somone was going to nick the wheel they would still cut the cable to
(1) see if it droped
(2) just to spite you for stopping them

prevention is better than cure

??? I thought the only thing holding the wheel up was the cable?.. or is there a 'back' to this device?? that holds it up if the cable is cut??

It's not rocket science, just don't live where c*nts nick sh*t, simples. And put them all in fenced ghettos where they can f*ck each other over :D

If you just carry a pair of bolt cutters round with you its easy to borrow a wheel from another van in the event of puncture
