Marinising a diesel

I recently aquired a motorboat in dire need of 2 new engines,i have been considering putting 2 transit diesels in but what would i need to marinise them ? and seeing as you lot are the gods of anything transit i thought i would ask you

You don't need to marinise them if you don't mind just running them with rads. Out of interest what engines are in the boat at the moment?

Got 2 perkins 4107's in there at the moment but they are officially knacked

Main thing is cooling, and I imagine you have a fibreglass hull. I am only familiar with narrowboats which use keek cooling, ie skin tank welded to inside of boat, and cooling water stays at same temp all day, due to canal being same temp all day. Closed system, with expansion bottle.

What sort of boat is this, it sounds like a sea boat is it or is it a canal boat,

You can get a kit to fit a transit engine which basically converts the cooling system so it is taking in water from the sea?river, thats a bout all that is needed to marinise a diesel, or as someone says you can use it as it is, But normally they are converted If your perkins are already marinised i would be tempted to find out if they could be fixed up.

Im pretty sure the perkins are past rebuilding, whoever had it last took the injectors out and water had got in and been sat for about 3 years they looks a complete state and plus it all needs re wiring

went down this road, transits are very heavy and big, ended up using 2 1.8 endura turbo lumps

It is a Zap Cat? Those 3 engines above are V6 300hp each. Shame they can't be adapted to go in a Transit.
