I'm told you sand off the blue paint from the back and repaint them, from the back.
Current Transit: Mk8 tourneo Sport with go faster stripes.

Long time sold: Mk5 LWB 190, 2.5di banana SHR, 3 seats, SLD, Twin rear doors (rusted bottoms), manual locking & windows.

Stick a sheet of fine emery to a ssheet of glass (or sumfin very flat) and rub until it goes clear'ish.
Then paint as you desire!

We used to do them all on our MK2's years ago and it was quite competitive - my fav was one I done airbrushed diferent colours of the rainbow from one side to the other...

It is really easy to do, try it and let us see the result..

Are the badges still made the same way?

I've got a couple of new ones in various sizes, and it looks like the blue is actually blue plastic all the way through. I've half a feeling that they used to be like a clear resin with the painted back. These I have just look like plastic all the way.

Anyone tried it with a "modern" badge?

Andy
