I was at Fords head office just before Christmas and was told there would be pictures of the new Transit released on the 14th Jan. Not on the TV just the press pictures, as soon as I get them I will post them, I did drive it in November and its amazing, like all new transits over the years it has moved on big-time... peter

I saw one in the flesh in Oct 2004, the front end disguised in plastic. It was near to Harlech in Mid-Wales in a lay-by, the driver was looking at a laptop. When I spun round to have another look at it, he disappeared in a spray of gravel.
Obviously it was a new 'component' under test, not him checking his hotmail.

same van facelifted, only change is putting the gearstick in the dash  crap idea dont work well on the sprinters, they suffer with linkage problems and cables popping off losing the gears, wonder if the rear wheel drive has dashboard gearstick :?: probably not :?: as the mk6 front wheel drive already had cables for gearchanging so its not that hard to extend the cables but the rear drive has a stick that connects directly to the box, more involved me thinks, the one in Peters link even has mk6 doors and not even the updated ones, my verdict, same van cosmetically updated.

It is essentially the same van and yes the rear whell drive model will have the IP mounted gearstick. Although I do hear through the grapevine that there will be the option of the 2.5 petrol engine from Volvo that is being used in the new Focus ST.

 the ldv isnt a bad looking van and in fact from behind on the motorway its hard to see its not a transit! but unfortunatly they have messed the dash up so alot of people wont like them ,silly idiots as the van probly would of sold well if they had put a decent dash in it! :?

That's Fords idea of hiding the new van before release.
