that ones an 8V, the scorpios are 16Vs, same engine tho, ive got an 8V in a scrap sierra which i might fit but i like the pose value of "sixteen valves"

yeah ive had an sri 130 cavilier 8v and a gsi 16v and there wernt much in em - still picked a 16v one to fit in me mk2 escort tho!!! same thing pose value!!!!

actually was considering a 16v vauhall for the mk1 transit....................for a while!!!

yeah was thinking about that but by the time ive got a 16v head i might aswell get a full scorpio - also it would waste my 8v engine!! which has a perfectly good head!!! and is genuine 80k

although for some reason the torque and bhp figures for the rs2000 are higher than the scorpio - same engine!!

Better off with the 8v as they are simliar in power to the 16v at around 125bhp, the 2.3 scorpio would be okay if they were cheap enough. RS2000 lump even harder to get hold of but kicks out 150bhp. All depends how deep you wallet is

the sierra 8v injection looks like it will foul on the servo - the transits have different injection to the sierra! looks similar to the scorpio!!

and the scorpio is different to the rs2 on the rs2 the air inlet would be where the bulkhead is

but considering the money i have spent on the van so far i might aswell get a decent engine in it!!

yeah i would probly choose that engine if it wernt for that!! ive asked on the scorpio site and no one seems to know why the power differences are 136 bhp to 150 bhp (scorp and rs2)

Get a real engine in it!! that engine is missing atlest 2 cylinders!

Not to mention afew valves and a handfull of camshafts!!!!!!!!

I'm guessing the difference between the 2 engines is down to the ECU mapping and probably the cams

Not being a mechanic but could the pistons be different , could that give it more bhp ?????
