Yes as per the title (a little dangerous I know ) do any other Ford or otherwise flip down sunvisors fit the Smiley face Transit? The reason for asking is that I would like the type that you can unclip from the middle to swing around to the doorside, I have even been driven in cars where the owner didn't even know their visors did this so maybe the Transit does have this as an option on a particular version but if Granada Scorpio ones fit or a Vauxhall Senator all the better as they will be easier to find.
I am sure something will fit as somewhere hidden in the Transit pictures some people have said they have other car/van parts installed up front but I don't recall any mention of the sunvisors.

Thinking about, i saw a van fitted with one of those retractable sun blinds the other day. Instead of it rolling up and down on the door he had it running horizontally, fixed at the back of the door with a little catch fitted to the quarter light divider thingy

Well if I can find the right donor vehicle then that will be what I will do. This is what I am sure I saw listed somewhere in the members Transit specs picture but since there are more than a few to go through I was hoping someone else had done it. Also this time of year isn't as bad as the winter when the sun is really low as that is when the movable sunvisor would really come into it's own...of course it would be nice to have now, as that the yellow thing has appeared in the sky again.

Good idea but I heard only last week of a guy who had a truck with the reversing camera fitted and had the screen on the dash (securely fitted) fail the MOT because of the 'distraction/in line of sight' reason. That sort of thing whilst nice, I seriously wouldn't like to shell out the money and find it falls foul of Mr Jobsworth...plus the odds on the vehicle getting broken into would increase by about 100 fold.

It would only fail if it was obstructing the drivers view ,when I worked for stagecoach there used to be an examiner that would fail some of the buses becuase of the location of the ticket machine, so we just used to remove the ticket machines before the MOT.

Makes sense but MOT's are so often a weird area since the guy doing the test has the power to say no and to be fair unless you are a tester yourself (and totally up on all the new regs) you can't say a word just bend over and take it. I have had MOT stations warn about the inner sills and others who have wanted to fail me...ummm because of the construction of a Transit you could have no floor at all and it is ok to pass the MOT since it is a box chassis rear but different testers have different ideas as to what is a fail or not. For example those fancy flip up screen Sat nav mp3 radio players 'could' be deemed to be distracting if they really want to push it, to turn around and say "but Halfords sell them" doesn't make them legal (though I pretty sure they are) but then Halfords also sells the headlamp bulbs that are too powerful for regular use and legally the blue side light bulbs are supposed to be an instant fail but the correct power blue headlamp bulbs are ok go figure?

I have a small 'central' sun visor (from a Mondeo) up
behind the monitor (where the interior mirror WOULD
be).
I know the Scorpio visors DONT fit a Transit (mk 6)
(my other car is a frog -eye Scorpio)
I did have an older tranny & just fitted Sierra visors
over the door (only caught them in the door/window once or twice)
about as often as the sun comes out ..in fact
The Scorpio ones do have a mirror/light but I think
it will have to be the Ultima model, I have them both
sides in my Scorpio because I bought a passengers visor
from Germany (on fleabay, needless to say).

The middle visor 'might' have been you I really can't recall now.
When you say Sierra ones fitted to the side do you mean in addition to the factory fitted units? If so that isn't what I want to do as I would bash my head or damage them in some other way. I guess I will have measure the Transit ones and go looking around the breakers and see what I can find...Escort ones would be very easy but doubtful to fit...but you never know as the internal door releases on the Smiley Van are the same unit as the Escort, already done that as mine were in a bit of a mess and the more I looked at them the more I realised they were the same but as I had just sold an Escort Van it was still fresh in my mind.

I agree but it wouldn't be the first time 'extra's' have been frowned upon. Ref: recent thread about extra electrics that had the boys in blue a little upset.

I think you will find that non van visors are just gonna be too narrow from the windscreen side pillar to the middle of a transit
screen is wider than a car's (how many cars seat 3 across ! ?
alright apart from the Fiat Multiplug ! ! !).
