as you maybe aware all my posts have been removed as they say i am a dealer. How do you define dealer i do buy up spares when they become available and then sell some off to recoup some of my out lay.You dont make a living from it though.I wonder how many people out there would be willing to lay out there own money to save old stock from being thrown away and have parts remanufactured not many me thinks.Some of this stuff you have hanging about for years thats i have aquired it over many years before some people even knew about transits being an icon when they were just thrown away. A lot of people have only just jumped on the bandwagon were as i have been helping to drive it -- any way you dont have to by my stuff see my auto-jumble at gaydon at the july event

Right here's the deal

firstly not all of your posts have been removed - just the ones where you are selling parts and replying to wanted adds

you buy and sell for profit - thats a dealer you even have WANTED FORD PARTS SINGLE ITEMS - WORKSHOP CLEARANCE signwritten on your van

we do not allow dealers to either place for sale ads or reply to wanted ads i have nothing against dealers but the desicion has been made when the forum was set up that we would not allow trade ads for the benifit of the forum members

the reasons for this are:-

placing for sale ads
we dont want the board full of pages high priced parts, traders by the nature of being traders will have a large quantitys of stock, and in general are higher priced than enthusiasts who are selling of spares left over from projects etc., all traders have the oportunity to be listed in our feedback section for free, that should be the first place any forum members go to when looking for parts - if they are prepaired to pay trade prices!

replying to wanted ads
By all means PM the person who has placed the wanted - i think this is very fair to both buyers and sellers, but do not reply if you reply on the forum it can make other people not reply, thinking they have bought the item off you. We have had traders go down the list replying to every single wanted ad, even one admitting they didnt even have the item but had some similar

as i say to all dealers and traders if you are prepaired to contribute to the running costs of the site, currently paid for by myself, then we will allow you to advertise in a designated section!

Do you think it is right i should be paying for a site for you to post your parts on to make a profit out of

as i said wright from the start i do by up old stock and sell some off but only if i have a number of certain items.Would you be prepared to fork out £1000-£2000 for stuff and sit on it no i dont think so. If it were not for people like me it would all go to scrap i have been collecting transit stuff for years Its my hobby i enjoy collecting it and sorting through boxes of stuff you dont make a living from it. With this mk1 &mk2 stuff you cannot go to your local ford agent and by it over the counter.As i said you dont have to by it from me i dont mind if i keep it but it helps everybody if i have it and you need it

Hey Luke,

Wouldn't it be a good idea if you gave us, the freeloaders using the site, some idea of what it costs you per annum to run the site. I use a few forums and at least one (for the bike) asks for voluntary donations to keep the site up and running. I can afford to, and have contributed, accordingly.

This site has saved me money because of the expertise passed freely, and I would be more than willing to do the same here as on the bike site.

i dont like it i want that one im more than prepared to donate a few ££ to the site to keep it running but as everyone else has said your still profiting from it why not just post in the suppliers section thats the first place i look for parts if i need any

your wright we will have to agree to disagree -- i only started seling some of my stuff a couple of years ago after local people found out i had it and they would phone or come around my house and ask if i could help them out-- i am builder really now i am a dealer in bricks and mortar
