LDV with "transit engine and box" - what is it?

I have just bought an LDV Convoy with the "transit engine and box" in it - anyone know what this engine is, as in how many Ford Transit engines are there, and what one was fitted to the Convoy in about 2000 / 2001, and is there a turbo avalable to fit it??

Yes, it is (the engine, not so keen on the van, I wanted a Sprinter / LT35) but what is it and how esay is it to upgrade?

need a pic of the engine, either 76ps or turbo, can be either by the way them vans have the best springs on the market single leaf and bullet proof, not like 92 onwards Transit 190, always snapping the middle leaf

oh and a little bit of useless info, LDV pilot ,some have fibreglass front road springs never go wrong either

they dont fit mk1 transits do they

good question, i know the calipers do,not that means anything, worth a look i spose, i will get Richard to compare next week my mk1 Truck needs front springs

I'll sort a picture but it does not have a turbo (was wondering if i can put one in) and it has the "bananna" on the top of it (IE the exhust manifold looks a little like a bunch of banannas) - helpfull ? Be good to have the Haynes (or similar) manual for the engine among other things...

Inlet manifold it is, silly me!
Other thigs include possibility of adding a turbo.
it is none of these, is it?
here says it is a "2.5 Di non-turbo. Looks like a bunch of bananas."

You have 76ps Transit engine same as that fitted to a '95 to 2000 model
If you do a search, you can make up your own mind if you want to add a turbo or simply turn up the fuelling
