van insurance !!!!!!!

hi guys,,,,,,
im looking for some cheap insurance for my van. i havnt got any no claims coz iv been using the company van for years and the quotes ive been getting are about 800 quid ,,,,,,, anybody out there who knows of a cheap company ????
my pocket would appreciate it

im with them just renewed £351.45 im 19 no ncb tpft worth a try my mate had a look and it was about £200 cheaper than who he is with at the moment

There was an entire thread on here somewhere about insurrance prices but you have to remember that location is the biggest hit on the prices. I dropped my insurrance by about £200 to well under £500 but mine is Fully comp, Commercial use and Full (protected) No Claims) but then I would put a guess that I am older than you so that helps my price....I am guessing I am older based on the fact that you have no no claims due to a company van....older people like myself have also ran a car in addition to the company vehicle, which allows a buildup of No claims bonus's
If you lived in say Lincolnshire and compared the rate to someone in the south (like you) then the two prices would have no comparision, it is always the 'other' guy who gets the cheap price whenever you try to do it yourself little things like where you live are different. A lot like that spoof ad where the woman complains about the rate of interest on her loan compared to her friend.

The cheapest quote I got was Fully comp @ £350 with Norwich union direct, that's with extra seats in the back covered aswell. they were the only ones that were low enough everyone else I tried was £700+++++ It was also dearer to insure TPFT or TP only than it was fully comp

I'm 21 and the cheapest quote I can get on a Transit TPFT at the minute is about £1,600.

Escort van is about £1200 and my MG ZS 2.0TD is only £1050.

You have it easy over there in terms of insurance I wish I could see three figures instead of four for a change!!

Albeit a kick on from the political situation, it proves what I have said about location making a difference...just over here it isn't normally quite such a leap of cost.

The political situation only makes a difference if you live in Belfast, which I don't. Out here where I live your van is no more likely to be stolen than it would in England.

Touch wood, I've never had a vehicle stolen yet. Been broken into on a few occasions but that's it.

I am paying £750 for 2 vans and a 7.5 tonne lorry and a espace people carrier and a jag xj40and i am with national farmers union with no milage limit or use limit
but then for bussiness use on 2 ldv spec lifts and 1 transit spec lift and 1 tilt and slide 7.5 tonnes I am paying £1300 with same company

You would think so but your rates say otherwise. You wouldn't see it but many of our TV and magazine ad's state in the small print that Northern Ireland is not an area to which they will send goods, or the Offer is not available in Northern Ireland. You are getting blamed for the political situation just the same...Belfast may be even higher rates but you get raped all the same.

Oh and Rikka...as I said younger than me My No claims is in excess of 10 years...no accidents that were claimed for at least 15 years...I don't know where those 5 years went either

I just tried the aquote place that 100ps is insured with....

I have a 1996 Ford Escort Van 1.8TD and I tried using a company I work for's English address as the address and it gave me a quote of £1216.45 TPFT!! I think it's something to do with my name.... they're just out to rip me off no matter what.

Just tried the evaninsurance one with my correct Northern Ireland address and details and it came out at £750.00 for the Escort or £1126 for the Escort and the Transit. I think I'll go with that!
