Dunno about the new ones, I thought it was still 135 maximum? I found that the engine in my old one was so torquey and responsive that the "low" 85bhp power wasn't as much a hardship as I thought it'd be though! So even though the Fords may "only" have 135, they're probably still as fast or faster than the big-power but less torque engines that the Germans sometimes use in their vans...

Of course. ;)

A V6 TDI that uses the engine from Ford-owned Land Rover would be even sweeter, 320+lb/ft as well!

I've driven a 174ps swb T5. Made my 135 Transit feel like a Fiesta 950. Makes me wonder what the Vr6 would be like......................

Well damn! :o They must be a real force on the road then, 'cos I've seen (but not driven, unfortunately) 135s going pretty bloody fast, impressed me even when I had my V6 Peugeot!

I know Mercs aren't popular here, but that 200bhp Vito CDI must be tremendous fun, using every free bit of the outside lane as a proving ground...
