and it says that the van was built in 11/3/93 and reg date is 4/2/93 , so how can this be, i'm confused . ian.

Nope as you have a MK4 someone has earliar mk4 than yours and someone has a later mk4 than yours simples if it was a mk3 (which it isn't) then you would have had newest mk3
