general question about seats

Cheers. I'll have to look into this more. I have a set of seats from a Vauxhall Carlton and a Ford Mondeo. And I have a van that could do with a new drivers seat. I guess if I got a plate and drilled holes to match those on the current base and the new seat that I could simply bolt them together.

I have Transit seats fitted in my transit. But the drivers one in my LWB is knackered and I cannot adjust the height. I have a Mondeo mk1 sitting in my yard which is in the process of being broken (spares still available ) and it has the seats. I thought it might be worthwhile fitting them in, instead of trying to find a transit seat that's in one piece. I also thought of changing the twin passenger to a single seat too. makes it more comfortable but I am unsure on the seat belts.
Although I have a welder and I stick things together with it, I would be concerned of my abilities to make something secure enough for someone to sit in and it to hold up to the strain in an accident. I might just bite the bullet and spend some money when I get some.
