Back axle aside, it's a low mileage engine so if you only want another 1000 miles or so it of it, it should be fine.

its got nothing to do with the axle its the engine you are talking about a engine thats over 30 year old and only run up and down a village ,and left ticking over for along time

he might be lucky and get home ok with it!

I see your point. The amby's engine will be 30 next year, and you know had well that goes! BUT it's been regularly run, so I suppose that makes all the difference.

:roll: remember these vehicles are not made for long trips,this van would never of sat at 80km in its life ,let alone ask it to sit at nearly 5000 revs for a few hours
the last 2 i have had bourt back would never have made it home on its own steam!
but he might be lucky!

I'M BACK, the old girl didn't miss a beat, cruised at about 56-60 all the way back, she is very clean indeed, and in the dayglow you do get a lot of people looking, even more when you turn the blues and twos on now got to deside what to do, options are, sell engine and fit cosworth 24v and convert to RHD or see how much its worth and maybe sell straight out for a little profit and then go get another,

no money to be earnt in them things for all the effort of getting it home you could earn as much if you went to the local auction and bought a mk6 to turn around i know it would be a lovely little business, but lots have tried it and the main downfall is the location of the steering wheel oh and with that one the colour scheme exacto as my one i painted blue and next time you might not be so lucky in getting home without a problem well done by the way

HOW big are those blue lights??? Seriously, never use the blues and twos on the road, LHD or no you will use your license. Very nice though, well done!

this was a cheap buy, but mainly down to the colour the prices are on the up for these now and the germans are also paying more for them with the avarage tidy one going for around 2500euro with low km and no rust!

there isnt or hasnt been that many this year so the supply is getting to the end i think!
the mk2 is getting more common with the avage price also 2500euro

the bigest problem with these is they are very bad to drive in left hand drive form on our roads!

At least the Mk2 is easier to change to RHD, maybe I should get Alex a new body shell!
