your van is only worth what someone will pay for it, most of us who have vehicles we love value them far higher than the simple monetary value and thats as it should be.

for sale ads and ebay reserves only give an idea of value if the vans are selling.

our mk1 escort has had the equivelant of £30000 in parts and labour and is insured for an agreed value of £15000, i doubt very much we could sell it for that much though.

Ebay is a good leveller. It shows what people are willing to pay for the vehicle AT A PARTICULAR TIME. i.e. Classics and particularly modern convertibles sell for considerably more in the summer months than they do at the back end of the year.

Surely the price people are willing to pay is the value of the vehicle?

A van may be worth £15k to the owner, who may have that much invested in it, but it's a different story when it comes to selling it.

mk1, s are on the up bigstyle ,and twin wheer vans are hard to find ,not that many left as they all rotted away and also had a hard life! you take a splitty vw look at what they fetch now ,20k is a normal price for a minter!

but value of mine i dont know it doesnt bother me yes i have spent a few k on it but that s the part of the hobby!
