I find that quite funny, £49.99 for a complete Transit loom and from the same guy £99.99 for a fog lamp wiring kit!

I just caught up with this. When you say complete right off, have you claimed ie told the insurance, filled out a form or had a pay out? If you haven't claimed, or had a pay out, I would say don't give in too easy! We had 2 underbonnet fires, one gutted the cab completely and the other was Alex, the year before she was on Topgear! So you could say it's not the end. Have a word with madvanman.

EDIT! Cam PM madvanman as he has had to change his number!

In that case, you can get a pay out less the scrap value, that's what we did. DO NOT LET THEM TAKE THE VAN AWAY!!!

i have a spare mk5 loom lying around, if the insurance company give you the chance to get an independant quote for repair, i can give you a quote that wont write your van off.

If the insiurance company has written it off they will list it in a catergory A B C or D, I think I'm write in saying but check anyway but Cat A & B are breakers only Cat C can be repaired but has to have a VOSA check before it goe's back on the road Cat D can be repaired no problem

thats right C & D are repairable salvage but will be subject to a VIC check - I think they classify fire damage as cat F but I would imagine it would still be subject to a VIC check as they seem to do this whenever possible
