Hi.

My van has a dual mass. My van had done 110k I'm sure drove fine until one Saturday morning I started it and the dual mass was rattling badly so took it into work and replaced it with a luk dual mass flywheel, clutch and slave cylinder. The flywheel has twisted so had to cut it to get to the bolt heads. The lot cost me £300 + vat but my work paid the vat so I wash apply

Indeed it would be false economy not to replace the dmf when replacing the clutch . If it was a smf you'd be changing just the clutch.

Hi All.

My 2008 Ex RAC van is feeling like it's due a new clutch ( currently @ 160,000 miles). In the Lex Autolease paperwork it had the clutch and flywheel replaced at 67601 miles. I've been searching the forum trying to find out which flywheel these RAC vans were fitted with from the factory, without much luck. I popped into my local Ford dealer today, to hopefully get the answer there. He looked it up on his parts system and told me it would be a dual mass flywheel setup. Is this correct or were they fitted with the SMF as they were a special build order for the RAC.

He did say they do a conversion kit for the van to run the SMF and gave me all the relevant finis numbers.

So has anyone got the definite answer?

Thanks for the link. Part numbers and finis code are different to what I was given the other day at my Local Ford dealer. But I can pop in today and ask them to check those numbers for me.

I have been on Eurocarparts website and they do a Transmeck solid flywheel conversion kit (product code 633590111) for £214.99. Says it includes everything, so for the money seems good. Anyone used this kit or any parts by Transmeck as I have never heard of them

Having fitted smf last year l have not had any problems, infact l prefer it to dmf. However at the time l was warned off Transmeck because they judder and have issues with longevity (allegedly) .
Although they cost a bit more l used lUK.

Valeo do a good reliable conversion kit. That'll work mate
