Hi everyone ,new to the forum, had transit vans since 1994, just picked up a new sportvan last week, great van loads of extras, surprised that there was no bluetooth via the radio.

Well what a week last week, found that there was no spare wheel,wheel carrier, jack, tool kit there was nothing there if I had a puncture. the dealer is going to check out whats happening.

Ive done 265 miles so far and the pipe that leads to the intercooler from an aluminium can at the bulkhead blew off doing 60mph going up a hill, reconnected it and drove away slowly but it blew off again, i managed to find a halfords store 10 miles down the road and bought a jubilee clip, degreased the can and the hose fitted the clip tightened and its ok now.

The van is going into the dealers tomorrow as the egr vale keeps sticking and under accelaration keeps puffing black smoke with lack of power.

Today removed all the door panels and waxoiled the full van 10 litres of waxoil in total. Its crazy that ford dont waxoil the engine bay or doors, even my 54 plate 260 85hp white transit started showing rust on the chassis legs when it was 12mths old, when i spoke to the transit bodyshop manager he said that it was seam seapage and not covered under corrosion warranty hence treating the new van before the water sets in, its well worth doing at the early stages if your going to keep the van for a long time.

i asked the same thing about the spare and was shown to the glovebox where a tyre weld kit thing lives, i was told if you get a puni to use it, so i replied what it the sidewall is torn out, he replied cockilly....... 1 years free RAC cover :roll:

i am going to fit a carrier and a spare, not an ali but a get you home steel wheel , prolly a 16 inch from a tourneo

the jack storage place is empty and waiting to take the jack kit

underneath, where its meant to be, will need to buy the standard carrier, i just like a bit of insurance for those unexpected moments, the prototype that was at Gaydon had a standard 15inch wheel underneath

Thanks for the advice, ive ordered all the bits for the carrier from the dealer and the sales manager is supplying them at cost price as he is miffed that the van never had any kit. Im going to buy a short bottle jack which will fit below the leaf springs and axle as a standard jack would normally locate where the side skirts are.

The turbo problem was the electric servo motor instead of vacuum actuator which is mounted next to the turbo which is faulty, the dealer has ordered a new one lets see how long it takes to come.

Standard scissor jack goes under the axle as well.
