No, as soon as you drop the thottle it just shuts down from 30 to 0 in about 15yards! and if your seated/standing wrong throw you violantly over the front or into the windscreen, it's an old trick - steam along full pelt with your mate standing, trying to keep his balance, when he's not looking - shut down! ha!
Seriously though, thats an exampe of what I mean when I say a boat engine behaves totally different to a van, no freewheeling ever, and under min80% load for 95% of its life.
It is said that a van/car is at about 25-45% for about 25% of the time, there stands the theory that a boat engine will be fairly knackered or at least need a serious rebuild after 2000 hours, not much in a van though?????
